What happens if I hold the cold tamper on the surface of the paraffin block longer than the time mentioned by the manufacturer?

If a very cold BxSOFTt COOL tamper (below 0ºC) is pressed on the paraffin block for more than 5 seconds, this might result in cracking it, due to the temperature difference.
