Blocks containing BxFrame (and variants) must be kept dry and cold in order to achieve the best quality sections. If BxFrame become wet, they will swell, and the tissue samples may dislodge from the receptacles. In order to prevent the BxFrame swelling during cooling it is recommended that blocks are kept in the mold to prevent direct contact with the cold plate or ice block surface.
