TreatmentGPS Launches Alpine Path Integration in Lumea’s Platform, Bringing AI-Powered Treatment Guidance Directly Into Pathology Reports

By September 1, 2026No Comments

LEHI, UT, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 – Lumea, a U.S. leader in digital pathology solutions, and TreatmentGPS, a physician-built AI platform for clinical decision support and patient education, today announced the Alpine Path integration into Lumea’s software. This integration enables guideline-based treatment guidance directly into the pathology reporting workflow.

When a urologist orders the test, Alpine Path reviews the pathology findings and generates a structured clinical summary aligned with current NCCN guidelines. The summary includes NCCN-based risk stratification, potential ancillary testing to consider, and treatment considerations based on the pathology findings, giving providers a concise reference alongside the pathologist’s original report. Alpine Path also produces a patient-friendly version of the report that translates medical terminology into plain language, helping patients understand their diagnosis, risk category, and treatment options.

“This integration reflects what we believe pathology reporting should do: connect a diagnosis to a clear, guideline-based next step, not just a result,” said James Thackeray, Lumea CEO.

Alpine Path is currently available for biopsy-related pathology reports covering prostate and bladder cancer, including metastatic prostate cancer cases. It can be enabled by default for a practice or ordered as an ancillary test following the pathology report.

For providers, Alpine Path is designed to save time and improve consistency: rather than manually cross-referencing lengthy pathology reports against current NCCN guidelines, providers receive a single summary covering key pathology findings, guideline-based risk categories, ancillary testing considerations, treatment considerations, and a patient-friendly educational summary, without adding work for the clinical team.

“Physicians and patients need clarity at the moment of diagnosis, not another system to log into. Alpine Path puts that guidance where the report already is,” said David S. DiMarco, MD, co-founder of TreatmentGPS and a practicing urologist.

Alpine Path was designed by practicing urologists who saw a need for clearer pathology reporting and more consistent application of evidence-based guidelines in everyday practice. By pairing provider-facing clinical decision support with patient-friendly education in a single report, Alpine Path aims to help ensure that every patient receives clear, evidence-based information, regardless of which provider they see.
